First-time voters can apply to be on SIR list by September 30 in Maharashtra
Citizens now have the chance to submit claims and objections regarding the draft voter list. First-time voters who have just turned eighteen are encouraged to apply for their inclusion. Approximately 1.5 crore voters previously excluded can also reapply. To verify their names, voters can check online or visit district election offices, with forms available through electoral registration officers for any necessary updates.
In Jalgaon, 5.14 lakh names have been removed from the draft voter list during the special intensive revision of the voter list. Eligible voters, except deceased and permanently relocated voters, can seek re-inclusion by September 30 by filing claims and objections through Forms 6, 7, and 8 online or offline. The final voter list will be published on November 4, 2026.
The names of 2.7 crore voters have been excluded from the electoral roll in Maharashtra. Voters whose names are not in the list can file a complaint by September 30. The Election Commission has released the first list of excluded names, and Form 6 can be used to re-include names, Form 7 for complaints and Form 8 for change of address.
