They still exist, the nations that are exemplary in democracy policy: one example is Iceland. Here the people were allowed to decide whether a resumption of EU accession negotiations is desired. The majority of citizens rejected this. Thus, the eurocratic left-wing and regulatory delusion continues to pass by the Icelanders.
The referendum on August 29th asked: “Should Iceland reopen accession negotiations with the European Union?” The majority of voters, 52.8%, answered no. The answer seems clear, yet there has already been some debate about what that means.
Although it rejected membership in the referendum, Iceland remains part of the European Economic Area and Schengen, and this is also in the EU's interest.
