Celine Dion Cries During Emotional Paris Concert Return
On Sept 12, Singer Celine Dion returned to the stage at Defense Arena in Paris for her first full-length concert in six years, opening with her French-language ballad "On ne change pas."
After revealing a diagnosis of SPS, an incurable autoimmune disorder, Dion cancelled her Courage tour, causing years of uncertainty regarding her performance career.
Around 30,000 fans packed the sold-out opening night, with some attendees from London spending around £1,500 on tickets to witness the return.
Visibly moved, the 58-year-old star delivered an emotional speech in English and French, telling the crowd, "I made a promise to come back." Albertina Cabral from Sao Paulo described the experience as unbelievable.
The star extended her ongoing residency to 16 concerts due to popular demand, with further shows scheduled to follow the initial run.
