The HZJZ EXAMINATION confirmed that the food in Gospić is safe because almost all samples are correct, with no evidence of general contamination from the landfill.
Only one sample was non-compliant.
On August 28, 2026, 32 samples were collected from 13 locations, i.e. from households that grow food for their own needs. The Croatian Institute of Public Health's announcement: Food from Gospić households safe for consumption appeared first on narod.hr.
“The HZJZ, in cooperation with the competent institutions, will continue to monitor the results and inform the public in a timely manner about all relevant findings,” the JZJ said in a statement.
The test also checked whether locally grown food contained PFAS, a group of chemical substances that can persist in the environment for a long time due to their persistence.
