In Tarrant Area Food Bank’s 13-county service region, food insecurity rose 35% from 2019 to 2024, while the population grew by only 10% in that same time period.
As the large associations close their doors for a month during this summer period, August food relief tries to compensate for their absence in a context where insecurity is exploding.
