- The Electrical Trades Union reported 100 per cent of its 100 members endorsed stoppages ranging from 30 minutes to 24 hours, while 89 per cent of Australian Manufacturing Workers Union members also backed the proposal.
- Strike action is expected to impact Port Hedland's port maintenance next week, as workers must provide BHP with five days of notice before beginning industrial action.
- Will Goldsby of The Chamber warned the decision should "alarm the nation," noting The Pilbara has operated for decades without interference as Australia's economic engine room.
