- Metropolitan Police officers discovered the remains in shrubland near Padstow Walk on August 12 after a recent wildfire uncovered the site, with a member of the public alerting authorities.
- Sheen, 44, disappeared in December 2019 while traveling from Fareham to Southampton; the investigation involved more than 4,000 lines of enquiry and searches at over 10 addresses.
- Detective Chief Inspector Toby Elcock called the identification a "significant development" providing new lines of enquiry, while Crimestoppers reinstated a £20,000 reward for information leading to arrests.
- The reward remains available for three months, expiring on December 17, 2026, as detectives investigate how Sheen came to be in Feltham while the arrested suspect stays in custody.
