Human appeal celebrates top UK volunteers at third annual Purple Legacy Awards
Human Appeal presented 20 awards and five Ramadan prizes, with 4,142 UK volunteers logging 15,205 hours this year, the charity said.
Humanitarian charity Human Appeal hosted its third annual Purple Legacy Awards in Manchester, gathering 150 volunteers and staff to celebrate achievements over the past year.
In 2026, 4,142 volunteers donated 15,205 hours of service valued at more than £85,761.80, with 1,788 new members joining the UK team throughout the year.
Top honors went to Ali Khalid, CEO, for sustained community impact; Alishba Ahmed earned best newcomer for recent dedication, while Hadi Asif received a new dedication award for consistent support.
London and South was named top region for fundraising and growth throughout the year, while Sofia Ali and Sabrine Mussa won best volunteer-led event for their successful fundraiser.
The ceremony presented more than 20 awards and five Ramadan prizes across fundraising and leadership categories, with keynote speaker Samantha Barlow, global volunteers manager, addressing attendees.
