Hugh Jackman 'Very Interested' in Norwich Soccer Club Stake
The actor said he is talking about a deal as celebrity investors continue buying stakes in English football clubs.
Actor Hugh Jackman, 57, revealed he is "very interested" in investing in Norwich City, describing the club as an exciting team while discussing a potential stake in the English football side.
Inspired by Wrexham AFC co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, Jackman noted his mother is from Norwich, Norfolk, and he has visited Carrow Road on several occasions.
American billionaire Mark Attanasio holds majority control of Norwich, having bought into the club in 2022 and gradually built up his stake before taking full control in August 2024.
Joking that he could soon be rivals with Reynolds in the Championship, Jackman predicted both Norwich and Wrexham will be promoted, quipping: "Good on Ryan, you do your thing. I think it's an exciting team."
This move follows a broader trend of celebrity football investment, joining NFL legend Tom Brady at Birmingham City and other stars including Will Ferrell, Michael B. Jordan, and Ed Sheeran at their respective clubs.
