An inconspicuous item on the council agenda, regarding the approval of a city ordinance on exceptions to the night-time curfew, sparked a heated debate at a meeting of Hradec Králové council last week. The reason was a request from Václav Vrzán, the organizer of concerts at the U Letců restaurant, to extend the productions by two hours after the usual start of the night-time curfew. Instead of ten o'clock, the events could end at midnight.
