How does a rural Alberta town’s food bank rescue over 50K kilograms of food from the landfill each year?

Each Friday, a volunteer from the Hinton Food Bank picks up distressed produce, close-to-date dairy and perfectly fresh bread from local grocers. It's all an effort to save it from the landfill, and put it into the hands of those who will use it.
