700,000 Power Steamers Recalled Due to Burn Hazard, CPSC Says
Wagner recalled about 700,000 steamers after 156 incident reports and over 50 burn injuries, including first- and second-degree burns, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.
- Wagner Spray Tech is recalling about 700,000 power steamers in the U.S., plus roughly 8,000 sold in Canada, after federal regulators received reports the products can overheat and cause burn injuries.
- The recall affects the 905e Auto Steamer, 915e On-Demand Power Steamer, and 925e Steam Machine Elite Steamer, which pose a burn hazard because the hose can become excessively hot and the nozzle can expel hot water.
- Wagner has received at least 156 reports of incidents involving hose overheating or nozzle expulsion, including more than 50 burn injuries to consumers' arms, hands, feet, and face. The steamers sold between 2018 and 2026 for $130 to $200.
- According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, consumers should immediately stop using the recalled steamers. The company is offering a free repair kit with a hose sleeve, nozzle cover, and funnel to reduce burn risks.
- These products were sold at major retailers including Home Depot, Lowe, Walmart, Target, HSN, QVC, and Amazon. Last month, thousands of air steamers were recalled following similar reports of hot water expulsion and burn injuries.
