Terrace Structure Fire Under Investigation - The Northern View
Fire crews limited damage to one home after a passerby called 911, and Terrace RCMP are investigating the blaze as suspicious.
- On Aug. 4, 2026, emergency responders converged on a residence on the 4400 Block of Greig Ave. in Terrace after discovering a fire had been deliberately set along the building's exterior side.
- Multiple emergency units responded to the scene, including two Terrace fire department trucks, two staff vehicles, a Thornhill Volunteer Fire Department ladder truck, a pickup, and four police vehicles.
- Terrace fire chief Joel Brousson credited a passerby who called 911 with playing a critical role in limiting damage. "Early notification allowed our firefighters to respond quickly," Brousson said.
- Deliberately setting fires endangers lives and emergency personnel, Brousson warned, stating officials are working closely with the Terrace RCMP to identify those responsible.
