Major relief has been announced for over 57,000 Panchayat Assistants in Uttar Pradesh. The government has decided to increase their honorarium from Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 9,000 per month. In addition, female Panchayat Assistants will receive service security, cashless treatment, and maternity leave. It has also been announced that cases filed during the protests will be withdrawn and assistants who were removed in the crackdown will be reinstated.
