Honda recalls 65K vehicles over display panel issues
Honda will update software free for 65,000 affected 2024 Acura ZDX and Prologue vehicles after panel display failures raised crash risk, NHTSA said.
- American Honda Motor Co. recalled certain 2024 Acura ZDX and Prologue models after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said over 65,000 vehicles may have display failures increasing crash risk.
- The Feb. 26 recall notice says a software error in the vehicle radio control module can intermittently blank the display or rearview camera image, reducing driver visibility.
- As of Feb. 19, Honda reported 148 warranty claims, and authorized Honda and Acura dealerships will update the vehicle radio control module software free of charge to address the issue.
- Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by April 20, and Honda owners can contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138 or search VINs on the NHTSA website using recall numbers TNL and XNK.
- The recall follows days after Ford's nearly 1.74 million-vehicle recall and Honda estimates about 1% of the recalled vehicles are affected, while NHTSA last week highlighted similar display failures.
