German coalition affirms reform agenda amid 'historic test' for democracy
Senior members of Germany's governing coalition have vowed to quickly implement reforms, according to a message to lawmakers seen by Reuters on Thursday, as the government faces record-low approval ratings and the surge of the far-right AfD.
It is not yet clear what exactly the coalition committee has done, but the leaders of the three parties send a message to the MP: Black-Red is aware of his responsibility.
The coalition committee met for about four and a half hours. Officially, no results are yet known. Apart from the summit of Union and SPD, an unusual meeting took place in political Berlin in the evening.
