Hisense marks 100 years of television with London celebration at birthplace of TV
Hisense paired a TV history exhibit with its flagship 116UXS RGB MiniLED set to mark the centenary of television.
Hisense celebrated the centenary of television over the weekend of October 24 and 25, hosting an immersive RGB MiniLED showcase across London and Soho. The brand returned to the site of the first public television demonstration.
Scottish inventor John Logie Baird conducted the first public television demonstration at 22 Frith Street in 1926, a century before Hisense connected this milestone with its current RGB MiniLED technology during the event.
Visitors followed a 'London Walk through TV History' trail connecting five stops, including Bar Italia at 22 Frith Street. Iain Logie Baird, grandson of television pioneer Baird, joined celebrations on October 25, collecting commemorative souvenirs.
Guests explored a museum-style exhibition at The Now Building at Outernet London, experiencing Hisense's RGB MiniLED technology in a 360-degree, ultra-high-definition environment. The company offers a 20% discount on eligible displays valid until November 8, 2026.
With operations in over 180 countries, Hisense aims to lead next-generation RGB MiniLED innovation and recently led the 100-inch and over TV segment. The brand serves as an Official Partner of UEFA EURO 2028, strengthening its global sports legacy.
