The milestone reflects HPU’s growth in graduate programs and includes about 300 graduate students recognized at the first of three ceremonies.
- High Point University honored approximately 300 graduate students during its Graduate Commencement Ceremony on April 30 at the Mariana Qubein Arena and Conference Center, the first of three ceremonies this week.
- HPU will confer more than 1,700 degrees this academic year, a record for the institution's 102-year history, driven by expansion in health-related fields, communication, and business leadership programs.
- Cisco Systems CEO Chuck Robbins received an Honorary Doctorate of Business Leadership from HPU President Nido Qubein, who introduced the keynote speaker warning that 'AI has arrived, is moving fast and will fundamentally change everything.'
- As Lee Greenwood performed 'God Bless the USA,' a bald eagle named Clark soared over graduates to symbolize independence and the pursuit of new opportunities in America.
- Two additional Commencement ceremonies for undergraduate students are scheduled for Saturday, May 2, with the first beginning at 9 a.m. and the second at 2:30 p.m. in the arena.
