The Croatian Olympic Committee elected Josip Varvodić, a 41-year-old surgeon at the Zagreb hospital, as its president on Wednesday. The president of the Croatian Swimming Federation replaced Zlatko Mateša, who resigned a few months ago due to a bribery scandal, Croatian news agency Hina reported.
