Heathrow Airport said Monday it welcomed more than 84 million travellers last year, a record high amount for the London hub which is set to undergo a major expansion.
London's Heathrow Airport surpassed 84 million passengers for the first time last year. There were 84.5 million, which is 0.7 percent more than in 2024. In December alone, a record 7.2 million passengers traveled through the airport.
In 2025 Heathrow announced that it had welcomed "a little more than 84 million passengers", a very slight increase compared to the 83.9 million in 2024. Despite the capacity close to saturation, the airport broke a monthly record in December, with almost 7.2 million passengers, and recorded nine months out of twelve above 2024 levels, including its busiest day on 1 August, with more than 270,000 passengers.
