On October 2, English bassist, singer, and actor Sting, the former frontman of the Police who is also a successful solo artist, celebrates his seventy-fifth birthday. He is known for such memorable compositions as Roxanne, Message In a Bottle, Every Breath You Take, Fragile, Desert Rose, and Englishman in New York.
Sting, one of the kings of British pop, has explored almost every musical style except heavy metal in his half-century on the music scene. This British singer, bassist and composer, whose real name is Gordon Matthew Sumner, was at the origin of the band Police, and later went on a solo career.
