- Atlanta took an early lead in the second inning when Mauricio Dubon hit an RBI ground-rule double. Sean Murphy extended the advantage in the fourth with an infield single, driving in a run to put the Braves ahead 2-1.
- After Jake Bauers drove in the first run for Milwaukee in the third, Brewers center fielder Garrett Mitchell left in the fourth after being hit by a 94 mph fastball. Rookie outfielder Luis Lara later added an RBI triple.
- Raisel Iglesias closed out the victory by earning his 27th save in 30 tries. Iglesias ended the game with a 1-6-3 double play against Bauers to preserve the lead.
- The win marked only the second victory in seven games for the NL East-leading Braves. For the Brewers, the loss snapped a three-game winning streak after they had won six of their last seven.
