15-year-old wanted on murder charges in fatal Hamilton shooting turns himself in to police
Police say Rahziel Martin is wanted on murder and attempted murder charges after an exchange of gunfire left two teenagers dead.
On Friday, the Hamilton Police Service identified 15-year-old Rahziel Martin as the primary suspect in a double shooting in Stoney Creek that killed two teenagers.
Officers responded to 191 Candlewood Drive in the early hours of Wednesday, locating two males with gunshot wounds who were later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Victims were identified as Abdulmalek Shibli and Afef Binafif, both of Hamilton. Police believe at least six individuals were involved in the exchange of gunfire.
Hamilton Police obtained an arrest warrant for Martin on two counts of second-degree murder and four counts of attempted murder using a firearm.
Investigators are examining whether the shooting was retaliation for an earlier disturbance involving bear spray. Authorization to release Martin's name remains valid until August 4 or his arrest.
