An exhibition showcasing the works of Frans Hals and Rembrandt van Rijn opens at the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem on Friday. The exhibit is intended to highlight both the similarities and differences in the two Dutch masters’ styles and techniques.
The portraits by Frans Hals and Rembrandt van Rijn hang side by side for the first time in the new exhibition Hals-Rembrandt at the Frans Hals Museum. Visitors can compare the works of the two seventeenth-century masters and discover how differently the two painters worked. According to curator Christi Klinkert, it is special to bring together the work of these two artists. “These are two of the very best masters of the seventeenth century.”
