Gustine’s Holy Ghost Festa blends faith, food and tradition for its 113th year

GUSTINE — Long before the parades roll down Highway 33 and the marching bands strike their first notes, the kitchen inside the Gustine Pentecost Society Hall becomes the busiest room in town. Volunteers boil beef, chop cabbage and slice bread as the smell of sopas drifts across downtown, signaling the arrival of Gustine’s 113th Holy Ghost Festa.
