Indigenous ASW Shallow Water Craft ‘ANJADIP’ Delivered to Indian Navy
Anjadip, with over 80% indigenous content and advanced ASW weapons, is the third of eight shallow water craft enhancing Indian Navy's anti-submarine capabilities.
- On Monday, Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers delivered Anjadip to the Indian Navy in Chennai, the third indigenously designed ASW SWC from Kolkata.
- The delivery advances India’s defence self-reliance under `Aatmanirbhar Bharat`, as GRSE built the platform in collaboration with the Navy, according to officials.
- Fitted with indigenous weapons, Anjadip carries a 30 mm Naval Surface Gun, lightweight torpedoes, indigenously developed anti-submarine rockets and shallow-water sonar, boasting over 80% indigenous content.
- These platforms will enhance the Navy's anti-submarine warfare capability, coastal surveillance and mine-laying operations, and the vessel was formally accepted by Rear Admiral Gautam Marwaha, VSM, Chief Staff Officer , Eastern Naval Command.
