GP fined for 115,000-gallon ‘unauthorized discharge’ into Fenholloway in February

Just two days prior to the state holding a public meeting here in Perry on a draft wastewater permit that would allow Georgia-Pacific (GP) to move the discharge point of the now-closed Foley Cellulose mill’s treated effluent, local officials learned a leaking pipe resulted in the “unauthorized discharge” of at least 115,000 gallons of wastewater from the mill into the river in late February.
