Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif launched a relief scheme in September offering Rs100 per litre discounts for motorcycles, rickshaws, and small cars, protecting an estimated 11.8 million lower-income beneficiaries from escalating fuel costs.
Under conservation directives, the administration mandated commercial markets close by 9:00 PM and slashed official vehicle fuel allocations by 50 per cent for three months, according to Cabinet Division notifications.
