The council will compare Washington with other space hubs and seek grants and resources as the industry generates more than $4 billion a year.
- On Monday, Washington Governor Bob Ferguson signed an executive order at the Museum of Flight establishing the 23-member Washington Space Council to support industry growth during Seattle Space Week.
- Washington currently hosts more than 90 space companies employing over 13,000 workers, generating about $4.6 billion in annual economic activity; Ferguson aims to keep the state competitive as the industry rapidly evolves.
