Gov. Lee Says 'There's Nearly Nothing' Left at Hickman Co. Explosives Plant, as Town Grieves
Sixteen people died in the explosion at an explosives plant, with investigators continuing recovery and examining the cause amid full cooperation from the company.

- On Friday morning, an explosion tore through the Accurate Energetic Systems explosives plant in McEwen, Tennessee, registering a 1.6 magnitude and scattering debris up to two miles away.
- Officials warned recovery and investigative work will continue for months as the ATF leads the probe with controlled detonations and on-site rapid DNA testing, TBI Director David Rausch said.
- Authorities confirmed 16 fatalities and said searches continue at the blast site, Humphreys County Sheriff Chris Davis reported the missing count fell from 19 after three people were found safe, and all families of the 16 victims have been notified while recovery could take days.
- After flying over the leveled plant, Gov. Bill Lee met with families of victims at a local church in the Waverly area, saying `The loss is staggering` and urging community support while warning against rumors.
