Wrexham CEO Williamson Departs, Harvey Named Acting Chief Executive
Shaun Harvey will handle day-to-day leadership as Wrexham begins another transition after Michael Williamson’s exit, with no reason given for the departure.
On Friday, Wrexham AFC announced the departure of CEO Michael Williamson after two years in the role, with no reason provided for the change.
Williamson joined in 2024, overseeing Wrexham's rise from League One to the Championship and earning Football Industry Leader of the Year in 2025.
Club Director Shaun Harvey assumes acting CEO duties, bringing nearly six years as chief executive of the English Football League, plus senior roles at Leeds United and Bradford City.
Co-Chairmen Rob Mac and Ryan Reynolds stated, "Shaun Harvey has been an integral part of this journey from the beginning, and we know Shaun will give every support to Phil Parkinson and the lads."
Wrexham currently sits 16th in the Championship table after an inconsistent start, having narrowly missed the Championshipplayoffs last season.
