Golden State Valkyries Championship Parade Set For Wednesday In SF
The team celebrated its first WNBA title after a Game 7 win, with fans lining the waterfront route and mayors joining the parade.
On Wednesday, November 4, 2026, the Golden State Valkyries celebrated their first WNBA championship with a waterfront parade in San Francisco, drawing tens of thousands of fans along the Embarcadero.
The celebration follows the Valkyries' historic Game 7 victory over the Atlanta Dream on October 31, 2026, making them the fastest expansion franchise to win a title in major North American professional sports since 1967.
Players and coaches began festivities in Oakland before commuting by ferry across the bay to San Francisco's Ferry Building, then parading along The Embarcadero to Second and King streets, honoring their connection to "Ballhalla."
Reflecting on the victory, 14-year league veteran Tiffany Hayes said, "This is just what happens when you invest in women's sports," while coach Natalie Nakase credited the team's relentless spirit and shared love.
Owner Joe Lacob, who guaranteed a championship within five years when the franchise launched, acknowledged the team's rapid two-year success and promised, "The best is yet to come.
