Commanders Offensive Line Preparing for Challenge From Rams Defensive Front
Washington has allowed 16 sacks this season as it prepares to face a Rams front that has challenged opposing lines all year.
On Sunday, the Washington Commanders host the Los Angeles Rams at 1 p.m. EST in Landover, Maryland, with the Commanders' offensive line facing a major test against the Rams' elite pass rush.
Rams coach Sean McVay, who coached in Washington from 2010-2016, faces his former team alongside assistant Kliff Kingsbury, who spent two years as the Commanders' offensive coordinator.
Bracing for the Rams' defensive front, Commanders offensive coordinator David Blough said the "offensive line will have their hands full in trying to slow down Los Angeles," as star defensive end Myles Garrett returned to practice with 4 1/2 sacks.
Following last week's victories, Rams quarterback Matt Stafford ranks second in the NFL with 2,146 passing yards, while Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels remains interception-free entering Sunday's matchup.
Los Angeles poses one of the biggest tests for Washington's defense this season; despite Rams cornerback Jaylen Watson's season-ending shoulder injury, the Rams' defensive line has yet to allow a first-quarter touchdown.
