Organisers have called for mass Demonstration actions across 21 German cities on Halloween, with more than 25,000 people registered for events in Berlin, Cologne, Hamburg, and Munich.
Thousands plan to participate in the Demonstration protesting "broken schools and austerity," alongside demands for lower living costs, social justice, military conscription reform, and climate action.
German security agencies are preparing for potential spillover from violent protests in France, Italy, and Spain. Police warned that extremists could exploit the gatherings, citing intelligence about calls for attacks circulating in closed chats.
Andreas Roßkopf, head of the German Federal Police's GdP union, warned that "State, but also federal police, will offer a firm and decisive response" to any violence. Organisers maintain their Demonstration will remain strictly peaceful.
Police say they are "vigilant and relaxed," intending to protect people's right to congregate while remaining alert to potential arson or destruction during the Halloween weekend.
