- With 18 missed free throws and a final 3-pointer gone awry, Cooley's toss followed Georgetown men's basketball team missing crucial foul shots by Jeremiah Williams and Malik Mack.
- Cooley opened his postgame press conference saying `First and foremost, I have to apologize to the Iwuchukwu family` and vowed to call and make amends to fans, players and the university.
- The loss leaves Georgetown men's basketball team at 8-4 overall, and next plays Monday, Dec. 22, against Coppin State at McDonough Arena.
- Previously, Cooley confronted a Xavier fan in February, and he recently expressed frustration with attendance as Georgetown drew just over 5,000 at McDonough Arena.
