GENESIS HOUSE PRESENTS MANIFESTING MARILYN: THE MAKING OF AN ICON, A CENTENNIAL REFRAMING OF MARILYN MONROE AS DREAMER, STRATEGIST AND SELF-AUTHOR
The exhibit features rare archival items, audio and imagery as it reframes Monroe’s legacy around her intellect and self-authorship.
On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, Genesis House opened 'Manifesting Marilyn: The Making of an Icon,' an immersive exhibition at its flagship New York City brand space exploring Marilyn Monroe's intellect and self-authorship.
Developed with Authentic Brands Group, the exhibition marks the centennial of Monroe's birth, while New York City will honor her 100th birthday with a special lighting of the Empire State Building.
Featuring rare archival items, the exhibit includes photographs from Marilyn's final 1962 LIFE magazine photoshoot, with actress Chlo Sevigny noting, "Marilyn has always represented far more than the image people project onto her."
Tedros Mengiste, chief operating officer of Genesis Motor North America, said the installation reflects the brand's ethos of becoming, while the exhibit remains open to the public through August 2.
With 29 films and a Golden Globe win, Marilyn set standards for women in film, while her legacy, managed by Authentic, contributes to brands driving more than $38 billion in annual systemwide retail sales worldwide.
