Genesis Further Teases Its Racing Aspirations with This Awesome GT3 Concept Ahead of Le Mans
Developed with Hyundai Motorsport, the concept uses a performance-first design and could inform a future customer GT3 car, officials said.
On Friday, June 12, 2026, Genesis unveiled the Magma GT3 Concept at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France, marking the South Korean brand's first appearance at the iconic endurance race.
President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company José Muñoz said the racing move challenges Ferrari and BMW, designed to elevate Genesis' global standing and accelerate its growth in the luxury market.
Developed with Hyundai Motorsport, the concept utilizes a "performance-first design approach," said Genesis Chief Creative Officer Luc Donckerwolke, featuring a twin-cockpit layout with analog instrument clusters inspired by racing timekeeping.
Head of Hyundai Motor Group's R&D division Manfred Harrer confirmed the model is "going into production," while the company eyes selling the GT3 as a customer car to race teams globally.
The motorsport strategy supports Genesis' broader global growth, with the brand accelerating European expansion into Italy, France, the Netherlands, and Spain as part of its luxury market elevation effort.
