Generac Plans 100-Plus Manufacturing Jobs at New Area Plant
Generac's Sussex facility adds over 100 jobs and boosts capacity for large-megawatt generators to meet rising demand from data centers and industrial sectors.
- Jan. 5, 2026, Generac Holdings Inc. announced it bought a 200,000-square-foot Sussex, Wisconsin facility from Quad/Graphics Inc. for $20 million in December.
- After expanding into large-megawatt generators, Generac saw rising demand from data center operators and strong year-over-year growth in its Commercial & Industrial business, prompting manufacturing expansion.
- The Sussex facility will open in the fourth quarter at N64 W23110 Main St and will add over 100 manufacturing positions just north of Quad/Graphics' headquarters.
- Combined with Beaver Dam and Oshkosh plants, the Sussex site expands Commercial & Industrial capacity to better serve backup-power verticals including health care, hospitality, wastewater, water utility, and heavy industrial customers.
- Generac described the move as positioning for growth, with Aaron Jagdfeld noting that 'global demand for data center capacity projected to more than triple by 2030,' said the statement.
