GAME stores to disappear from high street as more shops to close
GAME will close its last three standalone UK stores due to financial losses and shifting consumer habits, but will continue online and in over 200 concessions within Frasers Group stores.
- On January 31, GAME will close its remaining standalone stores in Dudley, Lancaster, and Sutton, after a sign signalled closure at the Merry Hill outlet.

- Despite shop closures, GAME will continue online and via concessions inside Sports Direct and Frasers stores, as managing director Nick Arran departs after nearly nine years.
- The wave of administrations is risking thousands of jobs, with The Original Factory Shop reporting 1,180 roles at risk and GAME's 2012 administration closing 277 stores and costing over 2,000 jobs.
- At its peak, GAME operated more than 600 stores, but most had closed by 2019 as CeX became the largest physical gaming retailer with about 390 UK stores and over 600 worldwide.
