Perhaps you may know him only from the street near Vondelpark, but without Piet van Eeghen, not only that park, but also the Rijksmuseum or the St. Lucas Hospital would never have existed. The businessman and philanthropist left his mark on the city in the 19th century. Now there is an exhibition at the Amsterdam Museum.
