The former epicenter of mass pro-European protests in the Georgian capital looks very different today. Rustaveli Avenue was dug up, traffic was closed, and several tents of opponents of the government remained in front of the parliament building. The scene from Tbilisi almost inevitably evokes a comparison with Belgrade - only that in Serbia the tents between the most important state institutions had a completely different political function.
