50 Years Ago -- May 17, 1973 Mrs. Gardner was honored by SAD 10 -- A special Mother’s Day program was held on May 11, 1973, at Allagash Consolidated School honoring the mothers of the students in grades K-8. The students presented a variety of songs, poems and several selections on the flute-a-phone.

May 10, 1973 More than 40 businesses are participating in "Ding-A-Ling Daze," the biggest retail sales promotion sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce. Businesses will stay open late, and merchants are encouraged to dress in "Ding-A-Ling" costumes.
