Freddy Brazier Admits He Raided BBC Show Budget to Buy Drugs
Freddy Brazier said he used part of the show’s £1,100-per-person travel allowance to buy cannabis during filming, and he called the decision selfish.
TV personality Freddy Brazier revealed on The Terry Stone Connection podcast that he used his travel budget from the 2024 BBC series Celebrity Race Across the World to buy cannabis while filming in Brazil.
Brazier explained he 'wasn't in the greatest headspace' and 'didn't want to be filmed on Mother's Day,' prompting him to feel he needed the joint to avoid being kicked off the show.
Defying hotel warnings, the then-teenager climbed out his window to buy 3.5g of cannabis on Mother's Day, later admitting the act was 'selfish' and could have 'costed us the show.'
Brazier further admitted to smoking marijuana the night before master interviews, breaking a promise to TV presenter Jeff Brazier that he would stay sober during the competition.
Since the show, Brazier has discussed his history with drug-induced psychosis and bipolar disorder, while Jeff reflected on his parenting with 'hindsight,' wishing he could have been 'a better experience.
