Former ESPN Anchor Sam Ponder Joins Fox News Podcast 'The Girls'
The weekly conversation series will feature rotating co-hosts and topics including pop culture, parenting, relationships, careers, money and politics.
- Fox News will debut 'The Girls' weekly podcast tomorrow, Thursday, October 1, with new episodes dropping every Thursday across Fox News Digital, YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
- Porter Berry, president of Fox News Digital and New Media, called the show 'a natural addition to our growing podcast portfolio' as the network expands to attract younger listeners spending time with independent creators.
- The premiere features former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo aide Melissa DeRosa, 'Fox & Friends Weekend' host Rachel Campos-Duffy, 'The Faulkner Focus' anchor Harris Faulkner, 'Gutfeld!' panelist Kat Timpf and former ESPN host Samantha Ponder.
- Designed as an unscripted, free-flowing conversation, the show aims to move beyond traditional news roundtables, with Megan Albano, executive vice president of morning programming, describing it as a 'no-holds-barred format.'
- This project follows Ponder's 2024 departure from ESPN and aligns with the network's successful panel-format programs like 'Outnumbered' to address topics receiving less television spotlight.
