Former Western Pa. legislator facing federal child pornography charges

Court papers say an FBI search uncovered files depicting minors ages 7 to 15 and material that appeared produced or homemade.

  • On Tuesday, federal agents arrested former Pennsylvania state representative Jesse White at his Mechanicsburg home, charging him with possession of child pornography. The FBI seized multiple computers and hard drives during the raid.
  • The investigation began after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received CyberTipline complaints on June 19, flagged as "child pornography possession, distribution, manufacture" with evidence of homemade files.
  • Agents discovered over 100 files depicting minors aged 7 to 15, according to court papers. White admitted using Telegram and the Tor Browser to access what he described as "inappropriate content."
  • White previously represented Allegheny, Beaver, and Washington counties in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2007 to 2015. He currently operates a Mechanicsburg-based consulting firm.
  • Documents from the Pennsylvania Supreme Court's Disciplinary Board reveal White was disbarred as an attorney in 2017 after misusing client funds to support a gambling addiction.
