Former North Texas theology professor sentenced for possession of child pornography, officials say

Former Brite Divinity School theology professor Charles Bellinger pleaded guilty to federal child pornography possession charges in January, officials say.

The trial of the teacher at the Stephen-Liégeard high school in Brochon for possession and distribution of child pornography took place this Friday, May 16, in Dijon. The teacher, who was absent from the hearing, was sentenced to a three-year suspended prison sentence.

A North Texas professor of religion has been locked up for collecting child pornography. Charles Bellinger taught at the Brite Divinity School, which is on the campus of TCU in Fort Worth. Court records show that it was the school’s IT staff that found the perverted pictures on his work computer. A former campus directory shows Bellinger was a professor of theology and ethics at the school. He pleaded guilty in January and was sentenced this week
