- Ford Racing introduced the 2026 Mustang Dark Horse SC, a supercharged model between the standard Dark Horse and GTD, at the Detroit Auto Show on Jan. 15, 2026.
- Drawing on Mustang GT3 and GTD learnings, Ford developed the SC to fill the Shelby GT500 void and expand Dark Horse to challenge Europe’s premium sports cars.
- Chassis and aero upgrades include next-gen MagneRide dampers, firmer springs, new knuckles, and an aluminium bonnet increasing downforce versus the regular Dark Horse.
- Pricing and power remain unreleased, and Ford Australia said it has no news on offering the SC due to Australia's New Vehicle Efficiency Standard and likely $200,000-plus costs.
- Industry estimates suggest the supercharger could push the SC near 800 hp, and if priced below the Corvette ZR1, it may challenge European and US high-performance cars.
