Fontaines DC confirm 'Dopamine Chamber' tracklist with surprise guest
The band’s first guest vocalist appears on “Where Is Gone” as the 11-song album follows Romance and arrives with a darker, mood-altering theme.
- Irish band Fontaines will release their fifth studio album, Dopamine Chamber, on October 16, featuring an unexpected collaboration with Latin icon ROSALIA on the track "Where Is Gone."
- Comparing Dopamine Chamber to their 2024 album Romance, frontman Grian Chatten said the new record needed to "feel more like a catastrophic warning," describing it as "60 per cent corrupted."
- Recorded in London, the English countryside, and Palermo, the album features the single "Marianne," which draws inspiration from the 2024 thriller Ripley, based on Patricia Highsmith's 1955 novel.
- Frontman Grian Chatten explained the album's concept: "The album itself is a dopamine chamber," designed to test "different mind or mood-altering pieces of music" on listeners.
- Bassist Conor Deegan noted the band's recurring focus on questioning a "sense of place," asking "Where do you escape to?" after earlier albums explored Dublin and searching for romance elsewhere.
