Foam Fest temporarily closes Vernon venues
Event organizers cut water use by 50% under Stage 3 restrictions as crews prepare for setup, closures and heavier traffic around the festival.
Vernon will close the dog park at Marshall Fields and the Lakers Disc Golf Course on Saturday, June 13, to accommodate the 5K Foam Fest event.
In alignment with Stage 3 water restrictions, event organizers reduced water consumption by 50 per cent to help ensure the event proceeds responsibly while supporting community-wide conservation efforts.
Residents should anticipate temporary closures and heightened traffic in the Kin Beach and Marshall Fields area throughout the coming days, according to the city.
Higher traffic volumes are expected along Lakeshore Road from June 10 to June 14 as crews complete event set-up and take-down activities.
Both locations are expected to reopen Sunday, June 14, while motorists should plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and use caution when travelling in the area.
