Hansi Flick: "We Need Leaders at Barcelona"
After consecutive defeats and losing top spot, Flick held open talks with players to restore confidence and leadership as Barcelona trails Real Madrid by two points.
- On Monday, FC Barcelona followed last week's 4-0 Copa del Rey loss with a 2-1 LaLiga defeat at Girona, marking back-to-back poor results.
- Two points off the top, those results left Barça behind the league leaders and allowed Real Madrid to move ahead in the table before Sunday's game.
- They returned to training on Thursday, when the first-team meeting was held, and held another discussion before Saturday's session that overran by more than an hour as Flick sought players' input.
- Barça will welcome Marcus Rashford and Pedri back for Levante this weekend, and Pedri can play some minutes on Sunday as Gavi nears return.
- Flick said the team must regain confidence and 'have the hunger to win these games', urging players to take responsibility and develop on-field leadership to reduce chances given away.
